Brian Haney is a Certified Association Executive, specializing in insurance and financial solutions for Associations and privately-owned businesses. Founder of his firm The Haney Company, he is passionate about educating and empowering consumers to achieve financial success. Brian is a national speaker, author, podcast host and mentor, operating an independent family-owned practice with his father Allen and brother Scott outside of Washington DC. As a 16-year financial industry veteran, Brian has had the privilege of speaking on a variety of topics to a variety of audiences and enjoys the opportunity to tailor a message to his listeners.

Leadership: A graduate of NAIFA’s Leadership In Life Institute, current MDRT mentor, Brian’s experience in leadership development has helped industry professionals realize the importance of emotional intelligence, building effective relationships, standing out and being the authority in their market. A leader himself, Brian is an active Board member of NAIFA Greater Washington and serves on the NAIFA National YAT committee, Independent Advisor Committee, and on NAIFA’s Diversity and Inclusion committee and is the acting NAIFA LACP Chairman, playing a vital role in launching and promoting this important designation. He is also active in the Association community as a member of American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), on the ASAE Diversity & Inclusion committee, and the ASAE Consultants committee. Brian encourages his audiences to develop the leader within.

Branding, marketing, and technology specialist: A self-avowed “tech junkie,” Brian launched the “That’s My Financial Guy” podcast in June of 2019 and published his 1st book, “The Retirement Income Pyramid” June 1st of 2020, two prime examples of his online content, marketing and PR prowess. He is a routine author for publications, such as Associations NOW, Insurancenewsnet, Advisor Today, and a frequent guest on several podcasts. Recognizing the need to rise above digital disruption and stand out from the crowd, Brian helps producers develop a strategic digital brand and marketing framework to catapult their practices forward.

Diversity, Inclusion, & Equity: Recognized by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), as their 2018 Diversity Champion, Brian has been a passionate advocate, ally, and catalyst for change. He has written multiple articles on developing diverse business practices and made exceptional efforts promoting the full and equal participation of diverse people within the insurance and financial services profession. Brian knows it all begins with helping people see things for what they are: Opportunity is not something each person can reach up and grasp. For many members of underrepresented groups, accessing opportunity requires a stepladder and a supporting cast of people holding it firmly in place.  Brian works to move individuals & organizations away from excitement, interest, and social pressure toward action and systemic engagement.
Producer growth & development: A decorated 16-year financial industry veteran, Brian has received much recognition as a Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Qualifier since 2009, MDRT Court of Table Qualifier since 2014, and a 3-year Top of the Table Qualifier. Brian is a NAIFA National Quality Award recipient since 2013 and was named one of NAIFA’s prestigious 4 Under 40 in 2017, as well as their Diversity Champion in 2018. Brian was a NAILBA ID 2019 award winner and was also named to the Washington Business Journal’s 40 under 40 in 2019. As a former Personal Trainer and Financial Sales Manager, Brian has an arsenal of presentations to develop exceptional sales professionals and motivate them towards MDRT-level success.
